The Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Survey (CIS) has now closed. Survey data collection was paused in March 2023, and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has since confirmed that CIS data collection will not restart.

Methodoleg
As part of the ongoing development of the Claimant Count since the introduction of Universal Credit, the series now includes Claimants from the Department for Work and Pensions' Full Universal Credit Service. This results in upwards revisions to the Claimant Count.

This study has now closed. The Winter Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Study (Winter CIS) provided vital information on the effects of coronavirus (COVID-19), on the lives of individuals, the community and healthcare services. Information from the study helped the NHS prepare for potential winter pressures and improved public awareness of COVID-19 infection levels. It was run by the ONS and commissioned and funded by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA).
