CAS for Output Areas part 1 (released August/September 2003)

Details

Some CSV format files contain anomalies introduced during production (typically columns transposed from standard layout). However, all DATA files correspond with associated DESC file (and are thus correctly described).

Comments

Files in the standard column order are available through Census Customer Services.

CAS015 Country of birth by sex

Details

Counts for Europe and Other Western Europe are missing from the SuperTABLE and CSV files for Output Areas in all Government Office Regions other than London, and for wards and above.

Counts can be found by adding sub-categories. Correct files are available from Census Customer Services.

CAS24 Age and limiting long-term illness by NS-SeC

Details

CAS25 Sex and Age by General Health and Provision of Unpaid Care

Details

Until 13/07/06, data for females above 15 years old were not present in the Nomis representation of the table.

Comments

The version of the table on Nomis has now been amended.

CAS026 Sex and economic activity by general health and provision of unpaid care (added 27.09/05)

Details

The CSV table for Output Areas in the West Midlands is corrupted. Counts for Full-time Students - All People (cells CS0260076 to CS0260090) have been swapped with those for Full time students - Male (cells CS0260256 to CS0260270). The total counts for All People Economically Active and Males Economically Active are correct, although they appear not to equal the sum of their component parts due to this error.

Comments

The correct version is available on request from Census Customer Services.

CAS036 Sex and industry by age

Details

Counts relating to 'All people: Real estate; renting and business activities' are incorrect in the SuperTABLE and CSV versions of the CDs for North East (GOR A), West Midlands (GOR F); South East (GOR J) and South West (GOR K).

Comments

Correct counts can be derived by adding the corresponding rows for Males and Females. Correct files are available from Census Customer Services.

Comments

Counts can be derived by summing sub-categories. Correct files are available from Census Customer Services.

Details

Counts in columns relating to all people, and people with one or more skills in Welsh, are incorrect in both SuperTABLE and CSV versions of this table, for Output Areas, electoral divisions (the equivalent of wards in England) and higher geographical areas in Wales.

Comments

This error was identified following the release of the Supplementary files and corrections CD. A corrected version of the table is available from Census Customer Services.

Table UV37 Means of travel to work - day time population

Details

The table for wards and above provided on SuperTABLE and CSV format DVDs provides counts of the usually resident population aged 16-74, not the daytime population aged 16-74 as stated on the table.
