Crynodeb o'r cais

A timeseries of household income from employment, investment and cash benefits.

Income from employment in this analysis has been defined as: Wages and salaries, income from self-employment and imputed income from benefits in kind ("fringe benefits" such as company cars and rent-free accommodation).

Mean averages by quintile groups are ranked by equivalised disposable income, using the modified-OECD scale.

These estimates are produced from the Effects of Taxes and Benefits on Household Income (ETB) series, derived from the Living Costs and Food Survey (LCF). The LCF is an annual survey of the expenditure and income of private households. People living in hotels, lodging houses, and in institutions such as old peoples' homes are excluded.

Income figures have been deflated to 2015/16 prices using the consumer prices index including owner-occupiers’ housing costs (CPIH).

Further detail on how the estimates in the Effects of Taxes and Benefits on Household Income (ETB) are produced can be obtained from the Methodology and Coherence Article.
