Travel Trends is an annual report that provides estimates and profiles of travel and tourism visits (those of less than 12 months' duration) and associated earnings and expenditure between the UK and the rest of the world. The International Passenger Survey (IPS) has been providing the source data for travel and tourism since 1961.
Visits to the UK by overseas residents, visits abroad by UK residents, and spending by travellers, using provisional passenger traffic data.
Provisional overseas travel and tourism estimates for Quarter 3 Jul to Sep 2014. Compared with the same quarter a year ago, the latest trends include a 4% increase in visits to the UK by overseas residents and a 2.1% increase in visits abroad by UK residents.
Estimates of international travel and tourism visits of less than 12 months duration in 2013. Includes the associated earnings and expenditure involved, with the exchange of approximately £50 billion of trade between the UK and the rest of the world. Results taken from the International Passenger Survey (IPS) show that 2013 saw the highest number of visits to the UK by overseas residents and the highest recorded spending since the IPS began in 1961.
