We identified an error in the published index values for the ESMI index (PPI INDEX IMPORT NEU - C2441 Precious metals 2015=100), covering the period January to June 2026. This was the result of an error in the system used to transfer our internal calculated values to the website timeseries system. We have reviewed how this occurred and have implemented changes to the system to prevent this happening, along with identifying additional quality assurance checks to mitigate the risk of similar errors in the future. The error only affected the upload of index values to the website for publication. It did not affect the internal calculations used to produce the statistics presented in the bulletin.
No other indices were affected, and the bulletin (Producer price inflation, UK: July 2026) and dataset (Producer price inflation statistics) were also unaffected.
