If you have never used census statistics before, the 2011 Census web pages are the starting point for all our statistics and background information.
The Census outputs a wealth of data, but don't worry, help is available when it comes to finding the information that you need. Alongside the statistics themselves, ONS publishes statistical bulletins summarising the key points for each census release (see our releases so far.) We also produce analysis articles that get behind the data on themes such as: methods of travel to work; provision of unpaid care; and families and households. And there is a suite of interactive maps and charts to help uncover your local area.
Take a look at our catalogue to see what is available so far, and our prospectus outlines the statistics still to come. There is also a user guide to help you understand the statistics, along with several instruction documents to help you find the data you need.

Depending on the type of dat you need, census data is also available from the Neighbourhood Statistics (NeSS) and Nomis websites. The following guides will get you started.
