Quarterly construction output price indices (OPIs) are used in the production of chained volume measures for Output in the Construction Industry, and estimating, cost checking and fee negotiation on construction works. Responsibility for these indices transferred to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on 1 April 2015. Data in this release are experimental statistics, produced using an interim solution whilst ONS continues to develop appropriate methodologies for the long-term.
