These data show the hourly median and mean rates as of 31 March 2018 by ethnic group of civil servants for London based employees, those employees outside of London and all employees where their region is known. For the purposes of aligning with other pay reporting publications, these data have been expressed on an hourly rate basis. The hourly rate is calculated by taking the full-time equivalent earnings of all employees (excluding bonuses), dividing by 52.2 (weeks in a calendar year) and dividing by the number of full-time hours that each employee represents. The calculation of hourly rates do not currently align with Gender Pay Gap methodology. The Annual Civil Service Employment survey excludes contingent labour and bonus when collecting salary information.
