I would like to request information regarding the British National Overseas citizens. I would like to know the population like age distribution of 3.4 million British National Overseas citizens (including those whose passports have expired). To be more specific, could you please tell me the number of citizens within age groups?

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request regarding the age breakdown of people who hold British National (Overseas) citizenship and how many of those have had their passports expire.
Unfortunately we do not hold any data about people who hold British National (Overseas) citizenship. If they have migrated in or out of the UK we would include them in the overall British category. We have no data about those living overseas.
We publish statistics about the number of British citizens we estimate move abroad as long-term international migrants each year, the latest of which are available in the recently published Migration Statistics Quarterly Report. We do publish a breakdown by age and sex, however, this does not show citizenship.
As part of our Living Abroad series we published data about Britons living in the EU which does have an age breakdown. For this publication we used sources such as Eurostat and the statistics offices of individual EU nations as we don't hold all the data ourselves.
We have no data about passport expiry dates so are unable to answer that part of your question. The Home Office (of which the Passport Office is part) may be able to help.
