It is my understanding that the Labour Force Survey is the only survey containing information on young people living at home the year before they are eligible for university. I would like to know if it is possible to obtain the relevant statistics, from 2000 to 2019, from the LFS Data Service by making an FoI request?

Thank you for your enquiry. The Labour Force Survey (LFS) does collect the type of information you have requested, but we do not produce the estimates you require. We do provide a bespoke service for ad hoc analyses. Special extracts and tabulations of data are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate). Another route would be to access the anonymised LFS datasets at the UK Data Service, if you are able to run your own analysis. Data can be downloaded free of charge for non-commercial purposes but if charges are applicable, you will be notified during the ordering process.
