You asked

Could you email me the England Weekly Deaths registered per 1 million population from 1998 to present?

We said

Thank you for your request.

In order to provide weekly deaths per 1 million population, we would need to create bespoke analysis. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.

We may be able to create the analysis you have requested from 1998 to 2019 as a bespoke output. Such services would be subject to legal frameworks, disclosure controls, resources and agreement of costs. If you would like to request this bespoke dataset, please contacthealth.data@ons.gov.uk to discuss your enquiry further. Please note, there may be a charge for this work which would be subject to our charging policy. 2020 data will be available for bespoke services once the data are finalised in July 2021.

However, please see the following links to the analysis we have available related to your request:

We have the following data based on date that the death was registered:

Deaths registered weekly from 1993 to 2018 by region, England and Wales

Weekly provisional figures on deaths registered in England and Wales 2005 to 2015

We also produce a standard weekly deaths dataset for more recent data, which contains greater breakdowns by age and sex for 2020 to the beginning of February 2021 in the following dataset: Deaths registered weekly in England and Wales, provisional. This dataset is updated every Tuesday.
