You asked

Are you able to tell me the most up-to-date number of dental practices in West Yorkshire, and also how many of those practices have an NHS contract?

We said

Thank you for your request.

This data is available on our NOMIS webservice, available via the following link: https://www.nomisweb.co.uk/query/construct/components/stdListComponent.asp?menuopt=12&subcomp=100

The latest data on NOMIS regarding the number of dental practices are for 2020. The data can be broken down by region, so you could choose "Yorkshire and the Humber." Further geographical breakdowns are also available on this services, which would be county and district within Yorkshire and the Humber - you can choose the areas that apply here.

On this webservice, we do not have any geography option that is specifically labelled 'West Yorkshire'. However, the data on here can be grouped together using local authority/ districts to create West Yorkshire.

Please see the following instructions for using this service:

Select the geography (England and Wales, regional or by local authority)

Select Age – All ages or 5-year age bands

Select Gender – Total or Male/Female

Select rates – All deaths, rates or percentage of population for example

Select cause of death (ICD10 code search is available)

Select format (Excel or CSV for example)

Unfortunately, we do not hold information as to how many dental practices hold NHS contracts. NHS England may be better placed to help. They can be contacted via email at england.contactus@nhs.net.
