You asked

Can you please tell me the National death rate from 2015 to 2021?

We said

Thank you for your enquiry.

We are responsible for the production of Mortality data for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from the death certificate at death registration. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.

However, we do publish headline figures for the UK in the Vital Statistics in the UK publication. 2019 is the latest data available.

We will publish the Deaths Registered Series for 2020 on 6th July 2021. This is to allow the data to include late registrations, such as those which have been referred to Coroner's Inquest. For more information on registration delays, please see our article Impact of registration delays on mortality statistics in England and Wales.

However, we have published year end figures for 2020 within our Excess Deaths Registered in 2020 in England and Wales.

2021 data

We publish all cause deaths weekly in our Deaths Registered Weekly in England and Wales, monthly data is also available in Deaths Registered Monthly and Monthly Mortality Analysis, which has a monthly ASMR (Age Standardised Mortality Rate) available for 2020 and 2021.
