Please can I request information on deaths from all causes of under 19 year olds with no pre-existing issues and deaths from COVID-19 of under 19 year old with no pre-existing conditions?

Thank you for your enquiry.
Unfortunately, we do not hold analysis showing COVID-19 deaths and deaths from all causes with no pre-existing conditions for those under 19 years old specifically. To fulfil this request, we would need to create bespoke analysis. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.
However, we do hold the following analysis showing deaths from COVID-19 with no pre-existing conditions by broad age-bands in England and Wales: Pre-existing conditions of people who died due to COVID-19, England and Wales - Office for National Statistics. Please navigate to Table 2 of this publication to view this information for 2020 and quarter 1 and quarter 2 of 2021. This has not been broken down into smaller age groups owing to the risk of disclosing personal information.
Please note, the methods used in this publication are not suitable to identify pre-existing conditions in all causes of death. This method was developed to identify pre-existing conditions where COVID-19 was recorded as the underlying cause of death. We are currently working on the most suitable method to produce this information for other causes. We hope this helps to explain why this analysis also is not held.
We can supply you with the figures for contributory factors which are recorded on part two of the medical certificate for cause of death. Part II gives details of any associated conditions that contributed to the death but are not part of the causal sequence. More information of cause of death coding can be found here.
We can provide this information for deaths registered in 2020, but we are unable to provide this data for 2021, as it is still provisional and subject to change.
Special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate).
