You asked

Please supply the following information concerning the number of arrests and prosecutions for domestic abuse and violence against disabled people, as outlined below:

  1. The November 2018 edition of the 'Domestic abuse and the criminal justice system' data set.

  2. The November 2017 edition of the 'Domestic abuse and the criminal justice system' data set.

  3. The number of arrests for domestic abuse-related crimes and incidents against disabled victims, by all police forces across England and Wales for the years ending March 2021, November 2020, November 2019, November 2018, and November 2017.

  4. The prosecution data for domestic abuse-related crimes and incidents against disabled victims, by all police forces across England and Wales for the years ending March 2021, November 2020, November 2019, November 2018, and November 2017.

The data for the tables mentioned in your FOI request were supplied by to us by the Home Office and the Ministry of Justice. Unfortunately, we are unable to breakdown these data further, and are therefore unable to specifically separate out number of arrests and prosecutions for domestic abuse and violence against disabled people. We do not hold any additional data.

Police recorded crime data is sent to us from the Home Office. If you contact them directly at CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk, they may be able to help you further.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) are primarily responsible for data on convictions. They publish Statistics each quarter, including defendants prosecuted, which may be of help to you. You can contact them directly to enquire about the data you need at ESD@justice.gov.uk.
