FOI REF: FOI-2023-1150
You asked
I would like to request data concerning daily deaths registered in England and Wales between the periods 1 December and 31 March for the last six calendar years, where the underlying cause was listed as one of the following ICD-10 codes: I21 - Acute myocardial infarction I22 - Subsequent myocardial infarction I23 - Complications following acute myocardial infarction I would like the data broken down by day, by sex of the deceased, by region of usual residence, and by location of death (eg hospital, home etc). For instance, the data should be able to tell me how many females died of a heart attack in hospital on 1 December 2022 in the North East of England.

Thank you for your request.
We do not hold analysis of daily deaths by specific cause, sex, area of usual residence and place of occurrence.
Deaths due to myocarditis and area of usual residence can be obtained annually from our NOMIS Webservice
We also publish weekly all cause deaths by area of usual residence and place of occurrence in our Death registrations and occurrences by local authority and health board.
We also have the following user requested datasets:
Daily deaths by place of occurrence, England and Wales, 2010 to 2014
Deaths from specific causes by place of occurrence: England and Wales, 2012 to 2016 aggregated
Further analysis can be created via our bespoke services route. Special extracts and tabulations of mortality data are available to order and are subject to disclosure control, legal frameworks, resources, and agreement to costs under the ONS charging policy.
If you would like to discuss this service further or request a quote for a bespoke tabulation, please contact Health Analysis and Pandemic Insight Customer Service team at Health.Data@ons.gov.uk
