Please provide hospital admission with confirmed COVID-19 (rates per 100,000 people) per week in 2020 and early 2021 (week ending 15 March 2020 to 7 February 2021) by the following age groups: 0-4, 5 to 14, 15 to 24, 25 to 44, 45 to 54, 55 to 74, 75 to 84, and 85+.

Our data on hospital episodes is obtained from the Hospital Episode Statistics published by NHS Digital with an approximately 3 month delay. Therefore, we use this data to determine pre-existing conditions and general health of individuals, but not to analyse recent hospitalisations due to COVID-19. Therefore, we do not hold analysis showing the requested information, as this would need be created. As NHS Digital publish statistics regarding hospital and ICU admissions, they would be better placed to answer this request. UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) also produce a weekly surveillance report which looks at the impact on hospitalisations, infection, vaccine effectiveness and COVID-19 mortality.
