You asked

I would like you to inform me of how many people in the UK have had serious side effects from the vaccine, also how many have died please?

We said

We are responsible for the production of mortality data for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from the death certificate at death registration. For Scotland and Northern Ireland statistics please contact National Records Scotland and NISRA respectively.

Illness or non-fatal reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine:

We do not hold data showing those who have been harmed or suffered illness from a COVID-19 vaccination. You may be able to obtain this information from NHS Digital, they can be contacted by email via enquiries@nhsdigital.nhs.uk.

Deaths due to reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine:

You can find the number of deaths involving COVID-19 in table 12 of our Monthly Mortality Analysis, these include figures for deaths involving adverse reactions to the COVID-19 vaccination. There are currently 0 deaths registered with the aligning ICD codes for this. However, should this change, they will be updated in this table.

In case it is of interest we are making analytical plans with an intention to publish vaccination statistics soon. Once we have finalised these plans a publication date will be announced on our Release Calendar.

If you would like to discuss your request further, please contact health.data@ons.gov.uk.
