You asked

I am seeking some specific information regarding the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) elderly persons using [social] care and support services.

Please supply the following information:

  1. What are the overall numbers of BAME elderly receiving care and support?
  2. What proportion of the BAME elderly receiving care and support identify as being (a) Jamaican; or (b) otherwise from the Caribbean?
  3. What proportion of those BAME elderly that identify as (a) Jamaican; or (b) otherwise from the Caribbean, receiving care and support has needed to sell their homes/property to finance their care in compliance with the terms of The Care Act 2014?

The only data we hold is based on Census 2011. Using the NOMIS webservice, you can select the establishment type as multiple care homes and the position in Establishment as resident and they can include self-reported ethnic group and sex.

We do not hold data regarding the financing of social care through the sale of property or other means by ethnicity.
