Please can you provide me with the data per week in 2021 for the number of people in hospital with covid who are vaccinated and unvaccinated or point me in the right direction for this information as I have been unable to find this.

Unfortunately, we would be unable to provide you with COVID-19 hospitalisations by vaccination status in the UK. To fulfil this request would require complex data linkage and to use a high level of statistical skill and judgement in order to create a bespoke analysis or table. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.
Our data on hospitalisations comes from the Hospital Episode Statistics Published by NHS Digital and is about 3 months delayed when we receive it. Our current data for example only goes up to the end of September. We therefore don't publish data on hospitalisations due to COVID-19 we only use the HES data to obtain past diagnoses and general health of individuals which is used for some analyses.
Your request would be better placed with UKHSA as they have up to date data on hospitalisations, they can be contacted on the following email FOI@phe.gov.uk
UK Health Security Agency also publish a weekly surveillance report which looks at the impact on hospitalisations, infection, vaccine effectiveness and mortality which could be of interest to you.
