You asked

Please supply the number of residential properties owned and/or mortgaged by men, AND the number owned/mortgaged by women across the UK (or England if the whole of the UK is unavailable) e.g named on deeds.

Preferably split by geographical location, e.g region or county, LA etc.

For the last 5 years or as long as we have the data for.

Any further information, including age, ethnicity, marital status and dependencies for these individuals would also be beneficial.

Thank you for your request.

Unfortunately, we do not hold analysis showing the proportion of mortgaged properties owned by men and women. In order to provide this, we would need to create bespoke analysis. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to FOI requests.

However, the information you have requested, or something similar, may be available via ad-hoc analysis of Labour Force Survey (LFS) and Annual Population Survey (APS) data and/or Wealth and Assets Survey (WAS data).

This service is subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate.  Information on ONS charging policy is available online.

Details of the variables included in LFS/APSdatasets can be viewed in the LFS User Guides https://www.ons.gov.uk/employmentandlabourmarket/peopleinwork/employmentandemployeetypes/methodologies/labourforcesurveyuserguidance

If you are able to do your own cross-tabulations, you could purchase an anonymised LFS or APS dataset from the UK Data Service.  Details on costs and how to download the data can be found on their website:
