Please provide the average annual gas, household electricity, and dual fuel energy costs for were for:
- 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and so far in 2023
- based on the average consumption for the area in each region - North West, Northern, Yorkshire, Northern Scotland, Southern, Southern Scotland, N Wales and Mersey, London, South East, Eastern, East Midlands, Midlands, Southern Western, South Wales and for the whole of GB.
This geography is based on all the allocated regions as set by Ofgem, but your regional estimates may vary.

Regional breakdowns of household spending on electricity and gas are collected as part of the Living Costs and Food Survey, and published on an annual basis as part of the Family Spending in the UK national statistics (Workbook 3, Table A35). Please note that regional breakdowns are in line with International Territorial Level (ITL) 1 statistical regions and are based on a three-year average for robustness.
The requested information regarding dual fuel costs would need to be created via our bespoke services route. These services are subject to disclosure controls, legal frameworks, resources, and an agreement of costs in line with the ONS Charging Policy. Please note, we would need to agree on your definition of dual fuel energy costs during consultation.
