You asked

Please could you kindly let me know what the: figures / statistics / data / numbers / evidence / facts show for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) being awarded to those people who have a rare Syndactyly disability (Fusion of Fingers)?

Regarding the aspect of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion, I would really like to know where Syndactyly disability is placed within the context of the Inclusion, Equality and Diversity framework.

Thank you for your request.

In relation to your first question, unfortunately, we do not hold data relating to the payment of Personal Independence Payments (PIP).

The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) would be better placed to answer your request. They can be contacted at freedom-of-information-request@dwp.gov.uk

In relation to your second question, United Kingdom Statistics Authority's five-year strategy aims to be inclusive in our design of data, statistics and analysis. This means ensuring our statistics reflect the experiences of everyone in our society so that everyone counts, and is counted and no one is left behind.

The Inclusive Data Taskforce and National Statistician's Inclusive Data Advisory Committee has made recommendations in relation to disability, which is a protected characteristic under the 2010 Equality Act. At ONS, we promote harmonised measurement of disability and impairments. Below are relevant guidance produced relating to harmonised standards for collection of disability data. The harmonised questions are not designed to collect data about specific conditions; therefore, Syndactyly would be included within the higher level category that it falls.
