Figures only include deaths that were registered by 28 February 2024, so may be an underestimate due to registration delays. Further information on registration delays for a range of causes can be found on the ONS website.
Spina bifida is defined using the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision (ICD-10) code Q05.
