The latest data available regarding COVID-19 deaths by occupation can be found via the following link. Coronavirus (COVID-19) related deaths by occupation, England and Wales: deaths registered between 9 March and 25 May 2020.
In order to provide an update of the information provided in this publication, we would need to create bespoke analysis, which would involve a high level of statistical and judgement to produce. For the numbers to be interpreted correctly, we would be required to calculate rates, population comparison rates, and we would also need to calculate all-cause mortality for the period for both teachers and the population. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests. We therefore consider this further analysis to be information not held.
We have recently reviewed the public demand for this work and we are now putting resources together with a view to resume the publication of this data in 2021.
