You asked

For the "Business insights and impact on the UK economy" survey ("BICS") could you please release the series "Approximate percentage of redundancies in the next three months" for tab "Redundancies TS (WTD) (2)" rounded to three decimal places rather than one, as is currently presented. The current rounding is resulting in a large amount of values now being represented as [c].

Thank you for your request.

Please see the attached table. These weighted tables contain data for the Business Insights and Conditions Survey (BICS) question "Approximately what percentage of your workforce do you expect to be made redundant over the next three months?" rounded to 3 decimal places. These figures are the same as previously published BICS data from Wave 20 to 40 except for the level of rounding and suppression.

Caution should be taken when interpreting these results based on the specific routing of this question meaning that only a small number of businesses responded.

The survey was sent to around 39,000 UK businesses, and results presented in this release are based on a limited number of responses.

Notes:

  • Mining and quarrying has been removed for disclosure purposes, but its total is included in "All Businesses".

  • Businesses were asked for their experiences for the survey live period.

  • [c] represents data that has been removed for confidentiality reasons for breakdowns with a count of 10 or less.

  • Caution should be taken when interpreting these results based on the specific routing of this question meaning that only a small number of businesses responded.

  • Excludes businesses that responded "Not sure".
