ONS are responsible for the production of mortality data for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from death certificates at death registration.
ONS have published a dataset which includes details of Single year of age and average age of death of people whose death was due to or involved COVID-19. This dataset can be used to view mortality figures for those aged under 40.
