Thank you for your request.

Unfortunately, we do not hold the data you are requesting.

Our publications and data concern crime as it is experienced by victims, or as it is recorded by police. We do not generally produce statistics on offenders or convictions.

We have published data regarding proceedings and convictions alongside our Child abuse and the criminal justice system, England and Wales: year ending March 2019 release. These data were provided to us by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ):

  • Table 19 details the number of defendants proceeded against at magistrates' courts for child sexual abuse offences, by offence type, sex and age group, year ending December 2014 to year ending December 2018
  • Table 22 details the number of defendants found guilty at all courts for child sexual abuse offences, by offence type, sex and age group, year ending December 2014 to year ending December 2018

These tables do not include the sex of the victim, however.

The MoJ are responsible for data regarding offenders and convictions. They may be able to help you further with your enquiries and can be contacted at ESD@justice.gov.uk.
