The following request is for England or England & Wales data:

We said

Thank you for your enquiry

We do not hold the requested analysis as a weekly or monthly output for either occurrences or registrations.

We do hold this information annually as part of our explorable datasets in NOMIS using ONS data where users are able to filter death registration data by age, date, ICD10 code and low level geographies for 2013 to 2020. Data is also available in our 21st Century Mortality output.

We also publish monthly data of deaths by leading causes in our Monthly Mortality Analysis. Table 11a has age-standardised mortality rates for selected leading causes of death compared with the five-year average for England and table 11b provides this information for Wales.

We also have specific user requested data sets which will provide breakdowns of certain ICD-10 codes for the period you have requested:

Weekly death registrations by selected ICD causes (I20-I25, I60-I69, I00-I99), England and Wales, 2000 to 2019

Provisional weekly death registrations and five-year average number of deaths for selected causes, deaths registered in 2020, England

Provisional weekly death registrations and percentage of excess deaths for selected causes, deaths registered in 2020, England and Wales

Five-year average weekly deaths from respiratory disease, Ceredigion local authority, 2015 to 2019 registrations

We can create bespoke analysis showing deaths by month, selected cause, 5-year age group and sex for the years requested as part of our bespoke data request service. Special extracts and tabulations are available to order from the HALE Customer Services team. These are subject to disclosure control, resource, legal frameworks, and agreement to costs. Please note, 2021 data would be based on provisional data until the publication of the Deaths Registered Series in July 2022. Such enquiries can be made to the Health Analysis and Life Events customer Services team on Health.Data@ons.gov.uk.

Please also note, we have judged that analysis showing weekly deaths by age, sex and ICD-10 code pose a disclosure risk, which is why we have offered monthly analysis via our bespoke services. More information on our disclosure policy can be found in our Policy on protecting confidentiality in tables of birth and death statistics.
