We are responsible for mortality statistics for England and Wales. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.

Therefore, unfortunately, we do not hold all the information you have requested and would be unable to complete the chart you have provided.

Public Health England are responsible for the R rate statistics. Their 'R rate in the UK' page may be of use to you: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-r-number-in-the-uk.

COVID-19 cases are recorded by Department of Health and Social Care alongside Public Health England (PHE). You can find the information via the following link: Coronavirus cases in the UK: daily updated statistics

This will provide you with:

  • Dashboard for Coronavirus cases
  • Number of tests completed
  • Pillars 1, 2, 3 and 4 tests.

If you require any further information about this topic, Public Health England may be better placed to assist. They can be contacted via email at: wn_coronavirus@phe.gov.uk for COVID-19 related queries, or enquiries@phe.gov.uk for regular enquiries.

Below are some links for the latest ranges for values in the devolved administrations. These are published on their respective websites:

NHS Digital produce their data dashboard https://digital.nhs.uk/dashboards/progression which shows cases at Local authority level in England. This includes those with suspected COVID-19 (Triage through NHS Pathways) and those with a positive Pillar 1 or Pillar 2 test.

The following publication, Deaths registered weekly in England and Wales, provisional, will provide you with Provisional counts of the number of deaths registered in England and Wales, by age, sex and region, in the latest weeks for which data are available. Includes the most up-to-date figures available for deaths involving the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Death registrations and occurrences by local authority and health board will provide you with weekly data but broken down by place of death (Care home, private home, hospital, hospice and other communal establishment) and by local authority.

We have numerous other publications on mortality statistics related to Coronavirus which are available on our website <www.ons.gov.uk>. The two above publications are the most up to date and are published every Tuesday. There is an 11-day lag in our data, which we allow for accuracy to ensure all deaths are certified by a doctor, registered (up to 5 days) and processed.

The COVID-19 Mortality rate can be found within our Deaths involving COVID-19 England and Wales deaths occurring in June 2020 publication.
