Unfortunately, we would be unable to provide the 7-day rolling average for influenza/pneumonia in answer to your request. In order to fulfil this request, we would need use a high level of statistical skill and judgement in order to create bespoke analysis for you. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.

Mortality data for 2020 is still provisional, as it is subject to change and is released under special measures with a provisional caveat. Given the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, we have increased our output of provisional data to aid specialist modelling work and to provide further information alongside our weekly deaths publication.

We have also published the number of deaths and five-year average per 10,000 population for influenza and pneumonia specifically in the latest Monthly mortality analysis, England and Wales (Table 11).
