Please let me know the number of people who have died in wales just from Covid-19.

In 2020 (up to week ending 1 January 2021; Week 53), there were 4,945 deaths involving COVID-19 registered in Wales.  So far in 2021 (up to week ending 12 February 2021) there have been 2,259 deaths involving COVID-19 registered in Wales. These figures are available in Table 2: COVID-19 - Weekly registrations of the latest provisional weekly deaths publication.

There were 751 deaths registered in Wales from January to December 2020 where COVID-19 was the sole condition recorded on the death certificate.  These data and information about COVID-19 and pre-existing conditions, for deaths registered in Wales, are available in the monthly mortality analysis publication in Table 1c.  Data for January to March 2021 will be included in the April 2021 release of this publication.  When the publication date is finalised, it will be announced on our Release Calendar.

Provisional numbers of deaths involving COVID-19 for England and Wales, 2020 to 2021, can be found in the latest provisional weekly deaths publication.  

This publication includes a breakdown of deaths 'due to' COVID-19 (where it was recorded as the underlying cause of death) and deaths 'involving' COVID-19 (where it was mentioned anywhere on the death certificate, whether as the underlying cause or a contributory factor).  A breakdown of deaths involving and due to COVID-19 is available in Figure 2 of this publication, however figures are for England and Wales combined. These data are available to download in excel format underneath the chart.
