You asked

Please can someone provide me with information to my following questions in accordance with the freedom of information act. The information I request is between the dates of 1/1/2020 - 1/2/2021.

If it is possible I would like information regarding people who live within a 15 mile radius of Tuxford Academy, Marnham Road, Newark, Notts, NG22 0JH.

The amount of people that have died solely from covid 19, with no underlying health conditions from dates 1/1/2020-1/2/21?

The amount of people with no underlying health conditions that were hospitalised between these dates?

Of the number of people that have died solely of covid 19 with no underlying health conditions, could you please tell me how many of those people were aged 0-16? Also how many people aged 0-16 were hospitalised in this time period of 1/1/20 - 1/2/21?

If it isn’t possible to find this information on the area that I am interested in, could you tell me how the data is measured? Is it collected for each town or on a county basis?

Thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately we do not hold analysis showing the number of deaths involving COVID-19 with pre-existing conditions within a 15-mile radius of NG22 0JH by age, as the numbers would be too low and individuals would be identifiable. Even if we were to create this, we would be unable to disclose this information, as Section 39 of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 (SRSA) renders it an offence to disclose information held by the Statistics Board for statistical purposes that would identify an individual or a body corporate. As we are prohibited by law from publishing statistics in which individuals can be identified, Section 44 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) would apply.

However, please see the following available analysis related to your request.

Our Deaths due to COVID-19 – Interactive map shows deaths due to COVID-19 by Middle Layer Super Output Area (MSOA). This is a small area of statistical geography of around 8000 people.

For MSOA Bassetlaw (Tuxford, Markham and Rampton), there have been 11 deaths since March 2020 to February 2021, broken down as follows:

  • May – 2 deaths
  • June – 1 death
  • July – 1 death
  • October – 1 death
  • November – 1 death
  • January – 4 deaths
  • February – 1 death

COVID-19 deaths by 5-year age band are published weekly within our Deaths Registered Weekly publication. Please note, this is for England and Wales and not at regional or local authority level.

Please see the following summed totals of provisional weekly figures on deaths registered where coronavirus (COVID-19) was mentioned on the death certificate in England and Wales:

We have also been producing Pre-existing conditions of people whose death was recorded with an underlying cause of COVID-19, deaths registered in 2020, this dataset can be found in section 7 of the Monthly mortality analysis bulletin. This dataset provides a greater insight into the leading underlying causes of death groups for deaths occurring in England and Wales in 2020 and will be updated quarterly.

Please see 'table 1a, row 28' for quarterly deaths where COVID-19 was listed as the underlying cause, but had no other pre-existing conditions recorded on the death certificate. COVID-19 deaths involving pre-existing conditions are split by broad age groups between 1-64 and 65+.
