We said

Thank you for your enquiry.

Homicide data from the Home Office Homicide Index covering the previous three years, year ending March 2018 to the year ending March 2020 can be found in the Appendix tables: homicide in England and Wales.

Appendix Table 28: Principal suspects convicted of homicide, by ethnic appearance of victim and principal suspect, combined data for year ending March 2018 to year ending March 2020

We cannot supply this information for other offences, such as "violence with injury" because the data are only collected as an aggregated return from the police forces in England and Wales and it therefore does not contain additional information such as victim or suspect details.

Data from police recorded crime and the Homicide Index are held and supplied to us by the Home Office. If you have any questions or further requests regarding these data, they may be able to help you further. You can contact them by email at: CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk.
