Deaths from the COVID-19 vaccination

You asked

Please provide:

  1. Since the Covid vaccine rollout began - to date - how many fatalities have been recorded where a Covid vaccine features on the persons death certificate. As a cause, complication etc.

  2. Is there a number you can show me of deaths thought to be linked to the above vaccines awaiting a final inquest?

  3. Do fatalities only feature on the Yellow Card / Government reported figures stats if a family member inputs their loved one onto the system - or are they included by the docs / hospital where they passed away?

​Thank you for your enquiry requesting deaths involving the COVID-19 vaccination.

You can find the number of deaths involving adverse reactions to the COVID-19 vaccination in table 12 of our Monthly Mortality Analysis dataset.

There are currently 4 deaths registered with the aligning ICD-10 codes for this (U12.9). The latest data available is July 2021.

Unfortunately, we do not hold information on deaths involving the COVID-19 vaccine awaiting an inquest outcome.

Any member of the public or health professional can submit suspected side effects or fatalities through the Yellow Card scheme.
