You asked

I am unable to find the information I need on the ONS website, so am asking for detailed data on Covid 19 deaths from March 2020 to now in children and adolescents 0-18 (split by age range 0-4 5-10 11-16 17-18 years old and a separate dataset for neonatal deaths (under 28 days old) as I cannot find any data for neonatal deaths on the website.

Thank you for your request.

Deaths involving and due to COVID-19 by age

Please see the following link to a dataset showing COVID-19 deaths by single year of age: Single year of age and average age of death of people whose death was due to or involved COVID-19. This dataset can be used to create your own age groupings from under 1 to 18, as you have requested.

Neonatal deaths involving COVID-19

Unfortunately, we do not hold the requested information regarding the neonatal COVID-19 deaths for FOI purposes. This is because the raw data we hold would require interpretation and would need to be linked to another dataset in order to determine whether the death occurred from the child having COVID-19, or the mother. Therefore, we do not hold the data requested.

Furthermore, even if we were to create this information using the process above, it is highly unlikely that we would be able to disclose this information, as the numbers of these deaths would be very low and subsequently would identify individuals. Section 39 of the Statistics and Registration Services Act 2007 (SRSA) prohibits the disclosure of personal information held by ONS for statistical purposes. As we are statute barred from releasing this information, Section 44(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) would apply. Apologies that we could not be more helpful in this instance.
