Thank you for your enquiry regarding COVID-19 deaths with pre-existing conditions for May to October 2021.

We have published Quarter 1 to Quarter 3 data Pre-existing conditions of people who died due to COVID-19, England and Wales - Office for National Statistics which looks at deaths involving COVID-19 by broad age group and pre-existing conditions for January to September 2021.

October to December 2021 data will be published in February 2022.

We are unable to provide further disaggregation for the age group 0-19 due to the small numbers in this group. Publishing at this low age band by specific cause of death and pre-existing conditions would be disclosive. This is consistent with the disclosure control methodology used for deaths. Section 39 of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 (SRSA) renders it an offence to disclose information held by the Statistics Board for statistical purposes that would identify an individual or a body corporate. As we are prohibited by law from publishing statistics in which individual businesses or persons can be identified, we find that Section 44 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) applies. Section 44 is an absolute exemption and no consideration of the public interest test needs to be applied.

However, we can provide COVID-19 deaths for age 0-19 without pre-existing condition disaggregation in this publication. Single year of age and average age of death of people whose death was due to or involved COVID-19 - Office for National Statistics (ons.gov.uk).
