Please supply the following information for each year listed separately:
The total number of deaths, from all causes, in the UK between 2015 to 2021.
The number of excess deaths in the UK between 2015 to 2021.

We are responsible for the provision of mortality statistics for England and Wales. Northern Ireland National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland.
In collaboration with these authorities, we produce headline mortality data for the UK in our Vital Statistics in the UK publication. The latest available is 2020.
Finalised 2021 mortality data will be published in our annual mortality publication, named Deaths for England and Wales. This will be updated in July 2022 as part of our Deaths Registered Series, this is to allow the inclusion of late registrations which are deaths which have been referred for Coroner Investigation and to use finalised mid-year population estimates. Monthly deaths and Age-standardised mortality rates are available for 2021 as part of our Monthly Mortality Analysis publication. This is based on provisional data and is subject to change.
UK data for 2021 will not be published until December 2022 as we receive UK mortality data from other statistical agencies. Northern Ireland National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Excess deaths in England and Wales for 2020 can be found in our Excess deaths registered in 2020, England and Wales publication. Table 3 shows Excess deaths for England and Wales, England, and Wales separately.
2021 Excess deaths
Analysis of 2021 excess deaths in England and Wales is scheduled for release in March 2022.
