FOI Ref: FOI/2022/4179

You asked

I note that the ONS has set up a "UK Census 2021 and 2022 data user working group".

As the stated purpose of these organisations is for "developing and delivering UK census outputs" it is important for transparency purposes for the general public to be aware of which organisations and professional people are contributing to this process.

Accordingly, I hereby request disclosure of

  1. which organisations are involved

  2. which individuals (academics etc.) are also contributing in their professional capacities.

We actively promote the working group seeking participation to ensure the group is representative of our users across the whole of the UK. A few ways we have done so are via Census Advisory Groups; our UK data web page and the Outputs consultation we ran last year. If you are interested in joining this group, or sharing your needs for UK data, please email census.outputs@ons.gov.uk.
