You asked

Please supply the numbers of rape and sexual assault convictions (in England and Wales) broken down by the country of birth of the person who was convicted (found guilty) of the crime.

It would be useful (if possible) to also get a breakdown on the type of conviction, similar to the data that has been previously provided by the Ministry of Justice for rape & ethnicity, so as to get a 2D matrix.

Please supply the following figures for each of the following countries: UK, France, NL, Germany, etc.

  • Rape of a Female
  • Rape of a Male
  • Sexual Assault on a Female
  • Sexual Assault on a Male
  • Sexual Activity with Minors
  • Other sexual offences

Preferably, the data will be for the most recent year where you have a complete set of data.

We said

Thank you for your enquiry.

Our publications and data concern crime as it is experienced by victims, or as it is recorded by police. We do not produce statistics on convictions.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) are primarily responsible for data on convictions.

Specifically, their Outcomes by offence data tool, for England and Wales, December 2010 to December 2020, may be of interest as this allows you to filter on crime type and by individual characteristics, over time. If you have any questions about this data tool, the Ministry of Justice may be able to help you further and can be contacted at ESD@justice.gov.uk

If you have any other crime-related queries, you can email crimestatistics@ons.gov.uk and we will endeavour to help.
