I'm wanting to know how many deaths have been caused due to air pollution in the Kirklees area over the last 5 years and how many illnesses due to air pollution have been caused over the same period in the same area.

We do not hold this information.
The Natural Capital Team produce modelled estimates of avoided deaths and ill health from the removal of air pollution by vegetation.
These figures unfortunately do not translate into any estimate of health impacts from total air pollution, in terms of either in lives lost or wider ill health.
The Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) may have calculated these figures and may be in a better position to respond, their Freedom of Information team can be contacted on the following address defra.helpline@defra.gov.uk.
