UK data for 2021 will not be published until December 2022 as we receive UK mortality data from other statistical agencies. Northern Ireland National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. To request data for 2021, please contact foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.
Monthly age-standardised mortality rates (ASMRs) for England and Wales are available for 2021 as part of our Monthly Mortality Analysis publication. This is based on provisional data and is subject to change.
Rates for England and Wales for 2021 will be published in July 2022 as part of our Deaths Registered Series. This is to allow the inclusion of late registrations which are deaths which have been referred for Coroner Investigation and to use finalised mid-year population estimates.
