However, we have attached the Annual Business Survey standard extracts for 2019 which you may find useful. The best source of data relating to this field will be found in Section M - "Professional, scientific and technical activities", SIC 72.1 (found in row 376) "R&D on natural sciences". Within this you have 72.11 which is R&D on biotechnology.

For the number of businesses, you can use Column D - no. of enterprises and Revenue will be the equivalent of our turnover variable in column E. Employment figures can be found in columns X, W.
