You asked

I require data on crimes, offending and/or convictions for offences against vulnerable adults (adults at risk), for example, how many vulnerable adults were killed by people known to them, how many vulnerable adults were victims of sexual, financial, domestic abuse etc… are you able to provide this?

We said

Thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately, we do not collect the data that you have requested.

We publish figures on the levels and trends of crime in England and Wales primarily based on two sets of crime statistics: the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) and police recorded crime data.

We do publish CSEW data on sexual and domestic abuse which can be found in tables F15 to F19 here, however this data is not broken down by whether the victim would be considered a vulnerable adult.

Data on arrests and police recorded crime (including homicide) is the responsibility of the Home Office who may be able to assist you with your query. They can be contacted at CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) are primarily responsible for data on convictions and so may also be able to provide you with further assistance. You can contact them directly to enquire about the data you need at ESD@justice.gov.uk.

If you have any other questions in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us at CrimeStatistics@ons.gov.uk.
