A population estimate for the UK for 1 January 2020 is available on the Eurostat website via the following link: https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/databrowser/view/demo_gind/default/table?lang=en
Data for the end of 2020 for Eurostat will be produced in June 2021.

We are responsible for producing birth and mortality statistics for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from birth notifications and death certificate at death registration. National Records Scotland (NRS) and the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Provisional Births in England and Wales in 2020
We published the following publication 'Provisional births in England and Wales' on 7 December 2020. This dataset provides birth statistics between January and September and how they compared to the same period in recent years.
Annual birth data for 2020 are provisionally scheduled for release in August 2021.
Provisional Deaths in England and Wales in 2020
Provisional weekly death registration data for 2020 is available via the following publication: Weekly deaths bulletin.
Weekly deaths are available in the 'weekly figures 2020' table.
This is updated every Tuesday at 09:30.
According to this publication, there were 614,114 deaths registered in E and W in 2020 (up to week ending 1 January 2021).
Annual death data for 2020 are provisionally scheduled for release in July 2021.
