Could you please confirm the total deaths from COVID-19 in 2020, for the under 70s.
Can you also confirm the total deaths from COVID-19 in 2021, up to 28 June 2021, for the under 70's.

We are responsible for the production of mortality data for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from the death certificate at death registration. For Scotland and Northern Ireland statistics please contact National Records Scotland and NISRA respectively.
We hold analysis showing a breakdown of COVID-19 deaths by age group in our weekly deaths bulletin, with statistics published up to week ending 2 July 2021. Please download the 'Covid-19 - Weekly registrations' table in the 2020 and 2021 datasets for weekly deaths involving COVID-19 by age.
Please also see the following summed weekly figures from each of the five-year age groups up to 70. These have then been summed those age group totals to provide the annual totals:
- 2021 - 11,606 (up to 2 July)
- 2020 - 12,806
