You asked

I am a criminal investigation student at UCLAN and a domestic violence volunteer.

I am currently researching support for domestic abuse in Lancashire and considering all aspects behind honour based violence and why there is such a low reporting rate.

I am trying to find if there is a lack of diverse employees in social work, police, emergency services, IDVAS and so on .

Please can you help me with my research and get back to me with the figures on your staff.

Id like to know how many staff you have qualified as social workers which help support families of domestic violence and how many of them speak Punjabi, Pakistani, Albanian, polish, Romanian etc.

The results will not be published and I am not trying to shame anyone. I'm simply trying to see if a more diverse workforce in every field would help victims feel they are more supported than just being with those who only speak English.  The 1 to 1 bond it essential with their case worker and a translator doesn't give it that feel.

I also need to know:

What domestic abuse training social workers have and how many hours they attend

What cultural, religious education courses social workers attend if any.

Thank you for your request.

As a statistical and analytical provider, ONS does not specifically employ social workers, nor do we collect any data of employees who hold social work qualifications.

Your request maybe better placed with Social Care Wales and Social Care England who can be contacted on the following emails respectively foi@socialcare.wales and information.requests@socialworkengland.org.uk
