Please supply information for influenza deaths like you have supplied for COVID-19 deaths (FOI/2021/3368) over the same period and age ranges.

Thank you for your enquiry.
COVID-19 deaths are published by single year of age in this publication and by sex in Weekly deaths publication. This is information already in the public domain which we collated and put into one table as part of your request. We did not need to create information to answer your request.
For deaths due to or involving influenza, we publish provisional mortality data as a respiratory death, with influenza and pneumonia combined. There is no age breakdown in this publication.
Due to the amount of work required to create this analysis for the specific age ranges you have requested, it is a chargeable output. Therefore, the information is exempt under Section 21(2)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act (2000) as it is reasonably accessible to you via another route, even though it is only accessible by payment.

2021 and 2022 data are still provisional which is to allow the inclusion of deaths registrations.
