Please provide the number of deaths in August where covid-19 is mentioned on the death certificate.

I can find some statistics in wide age ranges, but I need to know the total number specifically by each age last birthday.

Also please provide the number of these cases which had comorbidities. Please can this data provide detail by each age.

Please also include a break down of this data by sex.

Unfortunately, we would be unable to provide the breakdown of COVID-19 data by specific age, which had comorbidities, and also by sex. In order to fulfil this request, we would need use a high level of statistical skill and judgement in order to create bespoke analysis for you. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.

Please see the following link to our new COVID-19 output: Monthly mortality analysis reports for England and Wales. This shows provisional death registration data for England and Wales, broken down by sex, age and country. This also includes deaths due to COVID-19 and leading causes of death.

In August, there were 291 deaths involving COVID-19, in most cases (92.2% in England and 89.7% in Wales) where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate, it was found to be the underlying cause of death.

Analysis of COVID-19 deaths in this bulletin, includes only those deaths with an underlying cause of death of COVID-19, referred to as "due to COVID-19". This is different from deaths "involving COVID-19" used in other publications, which includes deaths that had COVID-19 mentioned anywhere on the death certificate, whether as underlying cause or not.
