You asked

Can you please advise if you hold statistical information relating to gang stalking community groups and or vigilante groups. This is not a request for data on cyber stalking but community stalking instead. I am particularly interested in group stalking statistics so would appreciate any details you are able to provide.

We said

Thank you for your request.

Unfortunately, we do not hold data on group stalking or gang stalking. However, stalking offences recorded by the police are published on a quarterly basis, and can be found in the following dataset: Appendix table A4.

Our dataset ‘Stalking: findings from the Crime Survey for England and Wales’ provides a breakdown of stalking based on data collected from the Crime Survey for England and Wales, including sex, personal characteristics of the victim, household and area characteristics of the victim, the type of abuse experienced (e.g. domestic stalking, cyber stalking) and the relationship of the offender to the victim (e.g. partner/ex-partner or family member). However, the survey does not ask questions in relation to stalking regarding any other offender relationship, the number of offenders involved or if offenders were working together.

Statistics regarding offenders of crime are collected by the Ministry of Justice, they may be able to provide further assistance. They can be contacted at the following email address: ESD@justice.gov.uk

If you would like any further information, you can email us at CrimeStatistics@ons.gov.uk and we will endeavour to help.
